This painting almost stayed unfinished forever. I started it during a transition: leaving one life, building another. I was afraid of falling, and I think, some days, I still am. I felt vulnerable, so I tried to transform all my fears into beauty on this canvas.
The lotus closes every night and opens every day, growing from mud into something breathtaking. We are all a little like that. We just need to open ourselves to find our beauty.
